single vs dual cores

personally i'd get the X2 just like i did the first time around.
depends on what you'd like to do though. you may as well get the 3500+ if youre getting a single core though... the performance increase isnt that great, and the application performance is basically the same. the X2 on the other hand performs 2x as good per clock as the single core in some apps.
 
so there is no really difference between the 3500+ and the 3800+. Its a like $40 difference.
 
theres a 200mhz difference... but theyre the same chip basically the 3500+ and the 3800+ will overclock almost to identical clocks.. but with 512mb of ram it doesnt sound like you want to do anything thats SUPER resource intensive... but yea the 3500+ is a fine processor. :D
