So shes going away for school probably and she will be getting a apartmenet so a desktop is what she wants..

Now mostly shes going be using this for ALOT of school work (her and her bf will be living in this apartment and sharing the computer) enterent searching, AIM, email, probably d.l music and thats really it, NO gaming I know for sure...

Don't know her budget probably no higher then $1000, so please help if you can

There are cheap dells like inspirons that you could still get with XP. I would check that out if you dont want any gaming.

that is $894.87 but after rebates it's $854.87
it will last her for a long time an in the future if she wants more speed you could OC the CPU for her (if you know how) i have head of people getting this CPU up to 3.8 on the same cooler as the one in this build.
i was not sure if she needed Monitor, OS, keyboard, speakers so i put them in the build.

It's a broad budget there are desktops with good quality specs for that price under 1000.
A fast and reliable PC is worth that much this days.
