I just fixed a major problem by disabling "Search Engine Friendly URLs" in the joomla settings. Now sitemaps are generated properly and there are only a few broken links so I deleted most of my post.

I'm still wondering how I can find and fix broken links though. I've tried the w3 link validator but no matter what I do it keeps saying error 400 bad request.

Is there a service or method someone can recommend so I can find and correct the broken links on my website?

Yes, I found that program during my many searches. It was really useful, thanks.

I pretty much have everything solved now.
