Hello, (sorry, not sure if this is the appropriate section to post this under)
Wondering if you can help me out, im having problems with my desktop...
A while ago my computer decided to randomly hang (like windows loves doing). It wouldnt stop hanging so i reset her. When she was booting up i got an error message - unfortunatly i cant remember what it was, but anyway, it meant my computer wouldnt get as far as windows (kind of a backhanded blessing i guess
)
i took my computer side panel apart and had a quick looksy to see what the problem might be, gave it all a clean and put it all back together, swearing it was identical to its removal.
Next problem comes when i recieved more problems. Every time i booted my computer, the windows loading page comes up and loads but will then either hang half way through loading or display a black screen for eternity.
If i need to turn my computer off and back on again, it will hang everytime. the only way to actaully get into running my user account is if i reset it after hanging and selecting safe mode or "use last know best settings that worked". - this is obviously not desirable as everytime i go back in, im one step behind in everything.
now i have tried going over all the hardware and it all looks to be connected and in the correct holes. i have also considered software issues but seeings as i have reformatted my hd and re-loaded xp using an OEM disc, i digure it must be hardware.
any advice on this will be very much appreciated, im totally out of ideas (that my puny lil brain can concieve). i know a bit about computing, but i might have to ask you to elaborate if you use big words!
my computer specs are:
novatech 2.0 intel p4
80gb maxtor hdd
lite-on cdrw
nec dvd drive
g-force t2100 graphics card 64mb
running win xp home (poop huh!)
Thank you very much, Kris Parsons
