Skipping and Lag

I'm not sure what caused it, but my music is skipping and my mouse is lagging.


I have the latest nForce drivers, and I even tried updating, and I'm running Kaspersky and I ran some Malware scans.
 
What are you doing when this happens?
On one computer I had I noticed music skipping when using the internet.

Play a song and go to speedtest.net, run a test while listening to music and see if the problem gets worse, if it does, I have a solution but it shouldn't be tried unless that is your problem.
 
Well it seemed it happened whenever I would start using utorrent, then utorrent would freeze, and close, then it would happen for a little bit after that, then stop.


Like right now it's fine.


I switched to Vuze and it seems fine now..
 
Did you do the speedtest thing? speedtest uses a massive amount of bandwidth in a short time so it should make the issue very noticeable.
 
well you might wanna try it anyways, be warned this "fix" disables the built-in windows firewall.

hold Win + R
put in services.msc
hit enter
right click "Base Filtering Engine" hit "stop"
if this fixes your problem, go back and disable the service completely
if it doesn't then the service will restart on your next reboot.
