Sleeper Desktop

I've had this idea for the past few weeks, and I am thinking of putting it into action. I was given an empty Gateway desktop case a few weeks ago, and I was thinking about building a sleeper system out of it. Basically what I am saying is throw higher end components into the case and when people take a look at the computer they will say, "store bought computer, that thing is probably a piece." Then when I start it up completely blow them away.

Sound like a dumb idea?

Hardly a new concept. People have been doing this for years with cars. Put a lot of work into the engine and suspension of a POS (Plain old sedan) yet keeping the outside as stock as possible. Yet the thing will do sub 12's at the track, but looks like it can't get out of its own way.

Kind of like buying a heavily modded case with all the fancy cathodes and lighted fans and windows and stuff, yet the guts are robbed from a stock HP.

EDIT: I built a nice system for the wife in stock E-machines T-2245 case. Mainly because it fit in the little cubbie on her desk.
