SLI 970/i5-4460 for two 1080p monitors?

It seems like a stupid question seeing as one 970 can run a 1080p monitor no problem.

I know SLI doesn't work for all games.

Also, can my CPU handle it? If not which one could?

Two monitors are not problem if game is not running on second monitor. In case you want 3840*2160 resolution (gaming with both monitors), then 970 is bit weak.

What will you be playing that you want the game spanned across both monitors? The clear division and bezel down the middle would drive me insane.

If that isn't what you want then the current 970 would be fine.

I totally agree with the bezel down the middle, that would be a nightmare for gaming.

I was actually planning on using a program called SoftXPand which will basically let you to make a two in one pc, so two keyboards, mice and monitors from one tower, and allows you to play some multiplayer/co-op games together.
