sli bridge

My EVGA motherboard came with double and tri sli bridges, but I was looking at one so I can have my cards in the two lower slots of my case instead of the top and bottom.

Does anyone know if this bridge is any good?

IIRC the bottom most PCI-E slot is only 8x (if you have the motherboard I am thinking of), so you would be loosing performance by using the bottom most slot.
