SLI configuration screen flicker problems

My SLI cable finally arrived from America so I've set up my 2 8600GT, overcame a cooling issue by rearranging a fan so thats all good but i have another problem.

I had to order an SLI cable because i needed a 12cm flexible one to go over and around my Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 heatsink. I put it on and set up the SLI configuration on my OS and it said everything is fine. I go to COD4 and the writing is always blurry and too big, i tried playing world of warcraft and the shadows flicker. None of this happened before, could it be the cable with a fault or my mobo or the card itself? I have 1 Asus 8600GT silent colled with the Arctic Cooling heatsink and the other is standard, brand new, this is the first time its ever been used. I tried it on its own and it had no problems, other than the stupid lack of cooling which as i said the fan sorted

do you have the screen resolution set as the same for windows desktop. that makes a great deal. also make sure your psu is big enough to run SLI. if not you get rendering problems or BSOD/crash

My system only uses about 550W of power and i'm on a 700W PSU, so that shouldn't be an issue. The resolution is the same for my games always and for everything i do so that shouldn't be a problem anyway either

you need to know the efficiency of the psu. what is it capable of handling under load. say you have a 1000w psu, but it can be garbage under load and cause the GFX to lag.

also since you have after market heat sinks be sure their seated properly. and maybe some new seating and thermal grease can help.

what are your temps on the gpu for idle and load.

I don't know how to find that out so i'll just go ahead and post everything that's on the side of my PSU:

Win Power

Model: ATX 700L

max power output is 700W

Input
115VAC
7A MAX.
60Hz
230VAC
4A MAX.
50Hz

Output
+5V 35A MAX.
+3.3V 35A MAX.
+12V1 15A MAX.
-12V 0.3A MAX.
+5V/SB 2.0A MAX.

That is all of it, if you can work out from that then please tell :P

I'm not geteting any kind of bsod or errors or anything at all, everything smooth, and have been running for about 4/5 hours now so i doubt it's psu

I have had the arctic cooling heatsink on for about 3 months now without any problems so it won;t be that and the other video card, as i say, has the standard heatsink on, which as know from single carding with my other card when it had the standard heatsink on, is crap.

When idle they are at around 40-45 degrees C and when gaming at about 50 degrees. The arctic cooling video card is around 5 degrees lower all the time, so those values minus 5

I have treid knocking the settings down and the same still happens, so even when loads of power isn't needed it still does the same

scratch what i said about the PSU not being the problem, it over heated and blew last night :mad::(

atleast i know what the problem was now
