SLI - Crossfire Question

Hi, I was wondering if I buy a graphics card, ex. Sapphire HD 6850, and I wanted to crossfire, do I have to buy another Sapphire HD 6850 or can it be a HD 6850 from any company? Thanks :D

Another gpu by the same model will look better, but yes, a sapphire XXXX will work with a XfX XXXX, etc. but it has to be the same gpu, like it can be brand here 6870 with brand here 6870, but not like brand here 5570 and brand here 5870.

Be sure you got a good psu...
But I can't recommend you to go crossfire :s
I got 2 hd6870, it seems I'm getting microstutter in most games. Sometimes it makes gaming just unplayable...
I got a thread of it, if someone knows a solution, post it there plz!

Thanks. I'm getting only one Hd 6850 since I think it's sufficient. I might get a 500w CoolerMaster because of affordability, but I'm not sure it'll handle 2 cards.

I'm getting the issue "microstuttering". It's a global problem. So read this before you buy 2 cards...

This has always been a problem with dual gpu's.

I had this with my old school 3870 x2.

I believe if you get cards powerful enough you can limit the amount of microstutter but with lower end cards (like 6770/6850/6870) you are pretty much prone to it unless you can get a really rediculous amount of fps. Iv read that some users see a lot of MS, if they dip below 50fps.

Its the only thing putting me off getting another 6850 for cf.

EDIT: Lmao i didnt even read the full thread :P I thought the post above me was the OP durp. Ignore what i said im a bafoon.

kitchen units sale

Just google www.solidwoodkitchen.co.uk and save yourself the hussle and bussle of sale. Got home turned on the laptop, googled kitchen units sale and the next second I was spoilt for choice and what’s more every kitchen company that I found was willing to come and visit me. Why on earth did I not just do that is the first place. Went with www.solidwoodkitchen.co.uk .Do yourselves a favour and learn from my mistake. If you’re looking for kitchen units sale then just google it. Infact whatever you’re looking for sale then just google it.

yeah, you're right. cf 6970 does better in this. But the hd6950 is failing in cf. If you really want to go crossfire, take a tripple cf setup, it's more stable then 2 cards or 4...

Also take then a card that supports a 3th card, because the hd6800 series doesn't.
