1) is it ok to have an eVGA and BFG with same speed and memory set up in SLI?

2) is it ok to have a 256mb and 512mb both from eVGA set up in SLI?

3) is it possible to have two video cards from different manufacturer, speeds, and memory set up in SLI?

Yes to all. Remember that memory does not stack in SLI, the 256 card will bottleneck the 512, for example, they wouldn't add together to make 768. It the same if one card was slightly slower, tiny bottleneck.

what about having a 7900gt and 8600gt from different manufacturers? same rule applies where whichever is slower and has least memory limits the faster one correct?
