hey guys. thanks for the help a few months back. i did get the GTX 460 1GB from Gigabyte. but the thing is im a PC geek and PCs is my hardcore hobby. i was wondering to get extra power to have in my PC ready to handle demanding games in the very near future, so what set up should i go with?

get an extra GTX 460 1GB and SLI it with my current GTX 460 1GB. also i do not have a SLI ready mother board i only have one PCI-e x16 slot and i have a AMD CPU. so i will have to get a AMD SLI ready motherboard and get DDR3 RAm and the total for that is about $339. i know people say that 2 GTX 460 1GB is the same or even more powerful then one GTX 480

and still if i get one 480 or a 580 ill still end up spending more then $339.

also my PSU is this kind of PSU from crosair. it has 12v@52amps
heres the link to my PSU

also im sure if i go SLI or either the 480 or 580 ill be able to keep my for at least over 5 years with out upgrading my cards and just my CPU right?

A 460 should still be plenty, keep it until it starts to show its age, and then upgrade, at that point you will be able to get a much, much better card for your money than you would buying now.

If you are set on getting new hardware right now, if you sell your GTX460, that should give you a nice extra sum to get a GTX580, which outperforms 2xGTX460 or a single GTX460, whilst using less power and producing less heat

i agree, get a gtx 580, it'd be pointless to invest in a new mobo now with bulldozer around the corner, at least if you invest in a 580 you can move that forward to the new board.
A gtx 580 will handle anything you throw at it, well worth the money imo, and later on you can sli, now thats a lot of graphical power :)

also for the record and assuming i didnt read your post wrong
