i have a Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe nForce4 PCI-E mobo and i was wondering if i needed a sli psu or if i could use a regular power supply, also the graphics card is a BFG GeForce 7950GX2,do i need a sli psu for it? i dont want to go sli with the graphics

The only real difference in SLI power supplies is they have duel PCIe power connections. Most video cards come with converters for two molex to a single PCIe connection...

My antec smartpower 500watt isn't an "sli psu" but it has 2 pci-express dongols anyways. And you'll want very poweful psu to run the 7950gx2, as it is essentially an sli of 7900gts mashed into 1 card.

That's strang... Most I've seen have two PCIe connections. I guess some might be based on power output... But then again, I've heard of some very cheap/weak SLI power supplies.

Yea, its weird. I bought a normal PSU and it came with 3 PCIe connectors. I guess its just a marketing tool...

SLi certified PSUs go through testing with nVidia. Although many non-SLI certified PSUs run SLI fine.

But yeah, look for a strong PSU for that card.
