i think i have a problem with my psu im using right now....

when i am playing a game that needs alot of power like farcry i get a message that pops up saying "graphic cards are not getting suffient power"

and then it lowers the clocks so it can go on....

i dont think my psu is really ment for SLI it has 22A on the 12v 8-( i dont think thats enough for 2 6800GTS

someone please help it seems like the only way to pass this is if i beem a big ass fan in the case why that helps i dont know maybe u can tell me..

so eather let me know what SLI psu to get "reccomend" or what i can do thanxxxx

specs below

Hmmm

You seem to be perfectly right about that AMP figure not being enough for an SLI setup. In this case, I would refer to Praetor's PSU101 and aim for some of the best PSUs. You are looking at two hungry beasts that need a powerplant to run ;)

JAN :D

well.. they just released the first KiloWatt PSU :P
no, get one with at leadt 24 Amps on the +12v. ( recommend 28Amp's tough ;) )

28A recommended, 32 would be "tough".

24 amps is enough for a fully loaded system with 2 6800ULTRA's, 2 pci cards. and all usb ports full, a x2 4800+. (im shure about this, because the book that came with my mobo tells so.)

Hehe don't you bet on that.

I'm running the stuff in my sig on a 24A psu atm & I wouldn't want anything less.

24 is "enough" if you don't do anything strenuous with it (such as playing farcry, D3, BF2, whatever at highest settings). When you pump it up you also pump up the amount of power needed by everything.

forgot to mention.. that was under full stress. though that would be clear.

and maybe i should mention that my pc before i got it, was tested 40 hours under full load (with 2 6800ULTRA's ) with a 24A +12V PSU, before delivered.
and,. apearantly, it managed the test.

i see so with a high 12v rail i wont have to worry about that?? i got cha

because when i have my fan towerds it i dont the message but when the case is closed i get it...so its the PSU heating up

yea.. and that is because you drain more power from the PSU as it is designed for ;)
so if you get a higher amp on the +12v, you stay withing the drain limits wich it was disigned for, and it will run.

well,.. ill see if my 240 Amp's will be enough :)
if not, ah well, then i have to change to.

if u have a high rated psu liek on teh 12 a rail 34a and say 650 wat and u only use like 400wat is that dangerous or is t perfectly fine

24A only amounts 288W ... 6800U SLI can chew out close to 400W on load....
