Is it possible to SLi 2 different cards? IE 1 8800GTS and 1 9800GTS(even though it's not even out yet), Would that be possible? Or how about a 7900GS alongside a 8800GTS? I'm just asking so if i were to get a card now, and when the 9800s come out i could get one of them and throw it in along side my current.. thanks

There's something on Nvidia's site about this. I know you can use different RAM amounts, where only the least is used. I know you can't use two models like that, but I can't remember if say an 8800GTS and GTX... Probably not, but I can't remember for sure :P

both card need to have the same gpu and it can be different manufacturer but you cant sli two different generation models. 8800+9800= no

yes but the clock speeds will either run at the lowest speed or, run at the clock speeds of the primary card, in which you could get some serious artifacts from the other card depending on the manufacturer and if extremely overclocked. Like xfx 7900 gs xxx + pny x7900 gs = Nono, since the clock speeds of the xfx are like 600/800 and pny are like 450/720 and pny max clock's were reported to be somewhere areound 550/770. I would say major issues with that.
