sli question

ok, it has to be two same video cards, my question is

lets say you have one 8800gt alpha dog edition card, and one regular ge-force 8800gt

can you SLI them? or does it have to be identical cards
 
As fair as I've heard, you will be able to SLI them if they have the same clock speeds. If they differ, they will both perform at the level of the lowest card.
 
Yes. It'll be fine.

There's an official SLI/CF thread around, it's full of information that you may find interesting. I don't know why it isn't stickied though, 'cause we get a lot of questions like this.
