SLI questions again... :)

So, last time I asked you about sli-ing two mid range cards the general response was that its main downside would be little v-ram... but now that I took a closer look at it I found out that there are gtx550ti-s with 2 or even 3 gigabytes of vram. How well would these cards perform in sli? and can someone who uses sli tell me how well it works?
 
550s are crap, you play at 1080p right? So you wont need 2GB of VRAM. Sell them and get a good single card.

Hes got a single gts 250 right now by his sig

I know sapphire is releasing a hd7870xt which is a locked down 7950, would wait for it and see what if any the unlock rates are, it's slated for a little over 300 i think.

That sapphire thing sounds interesting... might wait for it :)
 
I just realized, if this 7870xt is a locked down 7950 and will cost a little over $300 then what is the point of buying it? 7950 are like $299....
