SLI questions

Hey, guys, you know I just built a new comp, now I have a few questions:

1.) Appearly my motherboard has the SLI setting and everything, so does that means all I gotta do is buy a new card and plug it in to make it work?

2.) Do I need two of the same card for SLI? For example, if I have a 7800 GTX and a GT, would that still work?

Thank you.

1, no you can run the pc with one graphics card ! SLi function is optional !.
2, YES you will need the exact same card as the first one running the same BIOS i believe.
But with the crossfire ATi setups the cards do not have to be the same !.

They must be same same type of card (ex. 2 7800GTX's, or 2 6800GT's). They should be the same brand name, but i heard you can SLI them even if they are different brand names. But for bets performance get 2 of the same exact cards.
