Slightly Broke Micro-SD

Hi all

I have a 2gb Micro SD card that my computer reader will not read - have tried several readers so am convinced that it's something wrong with the card, not the reader.

The card is not even registering with the computer as being present. Does anyone know of any miraculous tips or tricks that might enable me to recover the data on the card?

Thanks for reading.

a few links for you on software which might do what you want!!!

http://www.z-a-recovery.com/

http://www.remosoftware.com/recover-images-from-formatted-sd-card

you could also try this

put the Card back in the Camera
see if the Camera will recognise it and replay some of the Photos for you.
If yes, now connect the Camera to the PC via the AVI/USB lead supplied with the Camera.

Do not use the Card Reader, connect the AVI Lead directly to any USB Port on the PC.

Now Double LH.Click on the "My Computer Icon" on your Desktop and see if the Camera/Card Icon
is present. If present RH.Click on it and select 'Open' or 'Explore' and see if there are any Images.
If so,individually 'drag' these on to the Desktop and see if the PC will open them for you.

Another 'trick' which is often ignored is to use the Camera Software supplied with the Camera.
This Software always does a much better job than Windows in the process of download difficulties.

may be this might work ;)

Hi FunnelWeb

Thanks for your suggestions. I tried the camera trick, but the card wasn't detected. Following your logic I tried the card in my wife's LG Cookie, but it still wasn't detected. The card was detected in my sons LG phone, using LG's file transfer software, but unforunately it was found as unformatted.

If it found the card (even though it was unformatted) maybe the software you suggested could help - I installed evaluation copies of both programs but none of them could reconstruct the files.

Thanks for all your suggestions though.

Want to know what happened to the card in the first place? The mother-in-law's dog got hold of it while we were looking after it whilst they were on holiday. You would never know this to look at the card, but it's obviously suffered some deep emotional trauma ... :(:(

Hi FunnelWeb

OK. Tried your proposed solutions without success, and come to the conclusion that my Micro SD Card is just too badly damaged to recover (even though it doesn't look like it to the naked eye).

Many many thanks for all your suggestions and the time you've taken to try and help me out. Much appreciated.
