^^ Are you sure thats the whole log? According to this there is absolutly nothing in your startup. That cant be right. Anyways, it seems you have ViewPoint Manager installed. This is known as a system hog and this is prob the source of your computer being slow. Please open task manager and click the "services" tab and right click ViewpointService.exe and hit "stop service". Then go to add/remove programs and un-install Viewpoint Manager.

When finished post a new hijackthis log.

Yeah... thats all HJT showed.
I was a little concerned when i saw the size too.
Okay, will do thanks.

I could prob guess which ones are in your startup but, im stumped as to why hijackthis wont show them. Well, post another log once you get done un-installing Viewpoint.

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • If your anti-virus or firewall complains, please allow this script to run as it is not malicious.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

Okay umm here are the log files...
A complete HJT log:

Your logfile appears to be clean of malware, I don't think that's responsible for your speed problems.

Your Java Runtime Environment is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update:
Updating Java:
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > Add or Remove Programs.
  • Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
It should have next icon next to it:
    javaicon.gif

    Select it and click Remove.
  • Then Download and install the newest version from here:

Let's see if this gives more information:

Please register (it's free, don't worry) with PCPitStop and run the full tests here. When the tests are complete, a results page will pop up. Click Share these results with TechExpress on the right-hand side. Then copy the URL provided and post it here for me.
