well guys/ gals , im back again, not with major pc problems like before with my sisters , thanks again for everyones help.
Well heres my pc that im working with.
Dell 8200 2.0 P4
256mb ram , 40 GB HD
Well lately i have noticed more slowness and less response.
So i looked to see how much space i have on my HD.
Not much left, theres only 2.63GB left of free space, which isnt good
I also have a 80 WD HD which i was going to use in my sisters build but i just gave her a 60GB because she dosent need a large amount of space
Unlike me i download music very often, becasue i make cds for friends and family also movies too and ringtones for many diffrent providers.

So what i am wondering,do you guys/gals suggest a reformat? I want to real bad but i have over 4000 songs and stuff that i dont really want to lose. But i would like to know if i do reformat , would it be worth adding that 80GB had for music and pictures and ringtones n movies? Im confused on how to go about this and would love some ideas and suggestions and this was the place to get them answered
so please let me know
thanks again, steve:D

you could buy an external hdd and plcae all of your music and all your other files on there. usb or firewire. and im not surprised that your computer is slow with 2gb free space. try and get as much space as you can with an external hdd. let us know what you decidde to do.

buy another hard drive, like a 150g one, put all ur songs and crap on the 150g and reformat the 80g, put windows, drivers, utilities on 80g and programs on the 150, also you might want to add a 256mb stick to ur comp

well thanks for the suggestions. but i think ill deal with losing my music.ill d/l alot over time so i guess i can live. but i want to add this other 80GB HD so once i reformat i can just down load it and save it all to it? when should i hook this 80gb up now or after i reformat? thanks

well this is how i have it ,
Master HD - 40GB HD
Slave HD - 80GB HD
Well it booted like normal and went to xp and showed that a new hard drive was found. I went to my computer and looked to see how much space is on it and it shower FAT32 and it was only a total of 7.83 GB, so then i right clicked on it and formatted it to NTFS and its still showing a total 7.83 total so i think need to do something diffrent to format it to be a 80gb but im not sure what to do. please help thanks

when i go to the 80GB properties it says
Partition style:Master Boot Record(MBR)
Capacity:76317MB
Unallocated space:68292MB
Reserved sapce:0MB

So i guess i need to download some program and reformat it?
thanks

I'd suggest that you get more ram too, beucase with 256, it's getting really really out of date, I'd suggest getting a 512 stick to add on atleast you can get a cheap one for like 20$

thanks i know what you mean, im not sure what kind of rams in this , i gotta look

anyone else about fixin this hd thanks

well i found the disc that came with it from western digital and formatted it so now its at like 76GB so i fixed that but im goin to do a fresh install of xp home on the 40GB and then is it possiable to clone or copy/move my new install and everything all to the 80gb HD ? if so please inform me thanks!!
