Slow internet connection

Recently I did a reinstallation for my computer and not sure what the problem is. I do have DSL but most web pages load up really slow as if I am back on dial up. I called my provider and told me to do some changes on my settings but still didn't help. Could anyone give me some suggestions?
 
Sometimes this kinda problem is caused by spyware/virus. I was infected by a virus that slowed my internet browsing speed but i got no prob at all playin online game.
 
Since you recently reinstalled.. have you updated the neccessary firmware(s) to your hardware that get's you online? Chances are, these may have been assigned a Microsoft driver rather than it's intended driver.
