Slow internet problem HELP!!! PLEASE!!

Hello,
i have a problem.
My Internet was really good, i could hold a minecraft server with no lag for 10 people, but since i have bought Fifa12 on orgin, my internet has gone really slow.
now on that minecraft server there is massive lag with 2 people on it.
in fps games i get around 300-500 ping but i had about 50-150 before. i have unistalled fifa12, orgin, reinstalled windows on my computer and the internet is still slow. even when im the only person using the internet in the house.

Info:
I have a Belkin router
and my internet provider is Virgin Media.

With slow internet, the first thing you want to do is reboot the modem and router. If its still slow, connect directly to modem to see if its still slow. If so, contact provider and have them do a line test. You may need to replace the modem.
 
Now i have a bigger problem, i tried reseting my router and now i have wireless on my xbox, my pc but not on parents laptop.
on my pc it says im connected to
Belkin54g and
Belkin54g 2
but when i disconnect from 1, both disconnect.

help please...

btw this is not the first time this happened, 2 years ago i fixed it somehow but now i dont remember how.
 
Do you have 2 routers? All you should have done was unplugged both modem and router and wait a minute and then plug them back in.
 
1 have a router belkin
and a modem from virgin media connected to the router, now i need wireless internet on my laptop
 
Just delete the existing wireless connection on the laptop and reset it back up.
 
i dont know how to do that
but my problem fixed itself, i kept refreshing the page and i suddenly connected to belkin54g2 and to my old long lost network from 2 years before that i deleted.
anyway thanks for all the help. if i lose it again i will write.

If you only have one router and you have belkin 1 and belkin 2 then its possible you aren't connecting to your own router, do you have neighbors close to you?
