Slow laptop

Hi all,

I am asking on behalf of my friend here , as she is currently facing this problem that is the laptop is moving very slowly lately as she don't use much program in her laptop why is it so this is happening and she also can't open her yahoo mail

Really need help from the people here to see is their any solution that you can help h , many thanks in advance

maybe her drive needs a defrag,have you also scanned for viruses lately?

She is using Compaq spec is 80gb 521 ram she is using Avg antivirus program with the use up space in C-drive at 11%

Ok m8 if shes only got avg then she needs a few more security programs and a firewall so firstly download and install these free programs and run them see whats happens

okay first what does she do with the laptop? 512mb isnt much these days so if shes photoshopping or something like that its going to be realy slow.
what processor has it got?

Right click- "My computer" and select "properties" .....it should list a cpu and speed.

what i would do is scan for viruses with Avast antivirus,after that do a defrag and see how it runs then.

also run CCleaner.

512mb is fine for normal tasking
