Hello all,
I have a PC with 1700 hz processor, but I feel that it is much slower than 1400 that my friend has! Before I format it, it was much faster than now.
I don't have any program that is running on startup?? and I am not connected to the internet or to LAN...
Could anybody has a suggestion?

bit hard to follow what your saying but I'm guessing here. You reformated your computer and now it's slower then your friends which uses a slower proc. then yours?

when you reformatted did you instal the Chipset drivers? did you instal the latest video drivers and sound etc?

It dont hurt to add your entire system specs rather then just your proc. speed.

yeah I have installed things that I installed before and many times before (when formating).
all drivers are the same and all well functioning but very slow ;(

that can depend on your ram also.. say he as a gig and you have 256... so it'll be better to list your spec and his spec so we know what your comparing with.. other than that its hard to give u an answer with just 1700 against a 1400 cpu. that doesn't tell us too much..

there are a lot of factor that make your system become slow :
1. your processor quality, reliability, speed in Hz and capacity of chache memory inside the processor.
2. reliablility of ram and its capacity in MB, speed of ram also in Hertz.
3. speed of your hard disk, in rpm.
4. quality of buses and speed in your motherboard, absolutely supported by its drivers.
5. speed and quality of devices, like vga card that give you the performance of graphics.
6. The last is supported Operating System and applications installed.

If you choose the best of them, you will find the right cofiguration that give you the best performances.
