Slow start-up

It takes a long time for my computer to start up. I know that McAfee and AdAware are responsible for slowing it down. Other than uninstalling these valuable programs what else can one do to speed up booting the computer ?
 
Download ccleaner. It has a utility to see what programs are loading at startup. Use that to get rid of some of the unwanted ones.
 
start>run>msconfig>startup and deselect uneccesary programs that don't need to be loaded when the OS starts.
