Slow system?

Is there some kind of (free) programme that can check my system? Things seem to be running a lot slower than they used to. I get sticky pages when they load and quite slow loading times. Also my cd's will not autoplay when I put a cd in. I have gone into the settings and it says it is set on autoplay. What can I do??

MSI KT3 Ultra aru
Athlon xp2200

ATI 8500dv AIW video card
2 x 160gb Maxtor Hard drives
SB LIve sound card
Windows XP pro
LG DVD-RW duel layer

You could try my tutorial on enabling autoplay through the registry.

Follow this procedure and hopefully autorun will work

You can enable Autorun through the Registry

Go to Start-> Run and type in "regedit"

Then go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SYSTEM->Current Control Set->Services->CDROM and the look for the Autorun value and double click on it

Then change the value from to 0 to 1
Restart your computer and thats it your done!

If not then, I will look for other things
Maybe use a spyware and adware removers like Spybot S&D and Adaware

Well, Hellbreather once mentioned System Mechanics 4 :) I haven't tried it but I recommend that you try it, why not :D

Narafa what do you mean once, almost every 4 threads I mention it, anyway I would suggest trying it in the free trial mode then if you like it you can buy it although the free trial is good enough to clean up your system.

Or maybe try Norton SystemWorks

You wont get a good system cleaner for "free" as you put it, some of the really good system cleaners are quite cheap actually.

Like elmarcorulz said, try Everest, its a free program that tells you everything and anything about your system. If you are having problems finding it, go to majorgeeks.com and you should be able to get it, and if not there are tons of stuff there that you can use.
