Slow USB

Hey guys,
I have not long ago updated from windows Vista to Win7 32-Ultimate and I have now a slow USB file transfer rate.
Not always actually... sometimes it transfers up to 26Mb/sec but sometimes as slow as 2 Mb/sec. Any idea what may cause it? Tried different flash drives, tried re-installing usb 2.0 driver but problem persist...
 
Have you tryed FULLY disabling/turning off ALL antivirus software you might have? They usually slow down the traffic,transfer rate...etc...
 
no... didn't think about that. gonna try and post the result! thanks for advice.
The same... i stopped the real time antivirus but file USB transfer is right now at 4mbs ...
any ideas how it might be possible? different type of files have different transfer speeds?

You might be getting the transfer rate if you are just transferring a single big file, but if transferring multiple file of different sizes you will get a slower transfer rate.

Try transferring a single huge file and see what is your transfer rate.
