small question

I am downloading something but busy for another work, I "Stand By" my computer, does "downloading" continue ???

no it does not work, but if you switch user then its ok.
there is no problem if you leave you computer on for hours. i do it

No, when the computer goes to stand by mode it closes network connections.
You can leave your computer on for weeks if you like... no problem.

As others have said, putting it in standby freezes anything that was running, so if your downloading anything, it will stop. Or if you're copying files or burning a CD, that will stop as well.
