i'm sure i'm not the only smoker here who uses an LCD.

could smoke at all damage the monitor?

i wouldn't so but i dunno....

Im a smoker myself, a chimney my wife calls me:P, but I dont see any connection between the smoke I blow and my LCD, unless their is an article about smoking can wreck your LCD, maybe smoking can destroy your lungs:P but not your LCD or mine:)

yeah man...i'm good...just seems like smoke could get in the cracks of the pixels and somehow damage that stuff. i'm not if there is a film over the pixels..i assume there is...

I think LCD manufacturer have taken extra precaution in dealing with enviromental hazards such as chemicals, etc. that would wreck the monitor, Ived had my monitor for 3 yrs and I dont see any changes in performance.

Smoke will not damage your LCD. But the fine particles in the smoke will form a thin layer of dirt on the screen. So if you're a smoker you need to clean more often the LCD screen. And this could be a problem, since the screen is not glass. So be careful, don't scratch it...

good to know. and those LCD wipes work wonders...

Better air clean it first before you wipe it, dust is an abbrasive, once you wipe it, its like wiping it with the finest grit of sandpaper, I use hairblower to get rid of dust and follow up with damp cotton. Dust is the no.1 enemy of electronics.:)

that's a really good plan...i dunno if i would use the hot air from a hair dyer...but blowing it off would be a good idea.
