so ya i spilled water on my keyboard on my msi u-100 netbook i imediatly turned it upside down and tryed to get as much out as possible and turned it off right away and then dryed it off and put it under a fan it dryed as much as i could tell and then i turned it back on and it turned on and all the keys work everysingle one but the mouse and left and right click dont work now! i read on the internet that if u put your electronics on white rice(dry ) that it soaks all the moisture out so im trying that out at the moment and using my other laptop

so any advice on what else i should do? other than not to drink water around your computer?

how easy is it to replace the mouse and the right and left click part or just fix instead of replace?

any advice would be greatly appriciated thx yall

You shouldn't have turned it on so soon. Usually you want to take as much of the laptop/netbook apart as possible and let it dry for several days. Try doing that and giving it time before you turn it on again.

yea i would have not powered it up for atleast 2-3 days, and i would have taken it apart as much as i could starting with the battery. at that point i may have even giving the board an alcohol bath

ok well i didnt do any of those things and i dont know how to take my netbook apart so any other suggestions?

You'll have to take the netbook apart to replace the trackpad & keys if it doesn't start working again, unless you want to pay $50-$100 for some company to open it up for you..

If its anything like my Asus, a simple keyboard bezel replacement should do the trick. You should be able to find them on ebay.

ya dude idk how to take it apart and im not a gentle man lol i was with my baby till i spilled water on her lol ya i will ask a guy i know if he will do it for me but any other suggestions?

i mean everything worked except the mouse pad and click keys are other things gunna go along with the way now or am i pretty safe and its just the mouse lol

You may just have to settle for an external (USB) mouse...

In this case, your mouse and mouse pad would need to be replaced.

Since you arent comfortable opening it up, find a good computer repair center in your local area and have them fix it. Talk to friends and read reviews to find a good shop. Tell us what city you live in* and there may be people here who can refer you to a good repair center in your area.

Don't trust places like best-buy or the such to fix your computer.

(*: just your nation, city, and state/province, not your full address)
