So i have 2 problems. 1 problem is mine the other is a friends. Ill start with mine. For some reason my games keep crashing and then windows tells me a driver has failed and recovered. All my components are up to date and have the latest drivers installed. So i thought it may have been overheating but i dont think it is that because i use msi afterburner with rivatuner to monitor my temps and what not. What else could it be? Bad card? It's a Sapphire Radeon HD 7850. Its 2 years old and i have never had this problem. I wiped my computer the other day after this started happening, but before the wipe it never mentioned the driver failing, the game would just crash and my computer would freeze up.

Problem 2. A friends computer is turning on but he has no display nor is his keyboard working. He also said it sounds like the computer is throttling at max the entire time. Its a 6 year old compact with windows 7. It sounds like a bad PSU or maybe something with the mobo, maybe the integrated graphics, idk. what would you do to test these things.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

As far as yours goes, what operating system are you running? Are you sure the video driver was up to date? What make and model of power supply do you have?

On your friends computer, have him reset the cmos. Unplug power from power supply, remove the cmos battery, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, then wait 10 minutes. Then reinsert battery, reconnect power and try booting up. If it still don't work then remove and reinsert the memory.
