wait a month and the price will be lowered 40%
i might get the 3870 instead of the 8800gt at xmas, you get the blackbox, which saves me 50$, since i dont want to buy the orange box, with that said, its like 190$ vs 270 for the gt
Stupid question:
What's a Black box/ Orange Box?
Obviously it can't beat an 8800GT, however it's $70 cheaper! It performs better then the current 2900XT as well, so I would say it's a great card for the price. The 3870 isn't worth the money since it can't beat a 8800gt, if you want best bang for the buck go for the 3850 or wait for the 256mb 8800gt which will have a similar price to the 3850

lol, I'm not an ATI fan. On Newegg, you can buy the 8800GT for about $280, and the 3870 for about $220. Now considering that it performs better then the 2900XT which costs $280 ($400+ a couple months ago), I would consider it a great card. However I'm not saying the 8800GT isn't a great card, but the 3870 isn't really meant to compete with it.Cough ATI fan, anyway depends on where you buy the card omega, some site have them around 250$, not every site sells them for 270 or 280$
Yes, I think the GT would be better than the 3870... Go on, flame me!![]()

You suck, Danny! ATI cards are garbage! Sorry....that's the best I can do.
Define, "better," If you mean it has more maximum performance than yes it's better, but if you take into account that it is 70 bucks cheaper, quieter, runs cooler, and uses less power then they are about equal.
And also, can you play crisis on your pc
