Geoff VIP Member Jun 25, 2007 #3 478 mPGA is the same thing as just a plain old socket 478 I believe, and as long as the motherboard can support it, it will work. For instance, if there was a Pentium 4 1.8Ghz in there, dont expect it to support a Pentium D 930.
