Hey guys, i am currently looking to buy a new computer for gaming and was wondering what sort of diffences (in gaming) I would notice between a socket A and a 754 board and CPU? The comp im looking at is socket A and was wondering what I will be missing out on!

Obviously i cant use an Athlon 64 processors in the socket A (I think) but I was intending on using an XP processor anyway (cheaper) so this is not an issue.

So what am I missing out on?

Thanks

Yeah...your sig with an Athlon 64's a bit confusing... I wouldn't go any lower than a Socket 754, as it's slowly being phased out(or...what's the Turon's socket?)

Anyway, socketA is quite old now. Definetly best to say away from it, espcially if you want any upgrade path.

yea I have an athlon 64 but my second comp is only a 1.3 GHZ Celeron, and I want a good second comp. And im on a tight budget, If anybody knows of place where i can get a 939 full system (box only) for around $400 AUS or $200 American (I think)... but this isnt the place for money conversion rates...but still if anybody knows of a place where I can get one...
