Socket AM2 and AM3, HELP!

So I have ordered a AM3 motherboard and was about to order an AMD Phenom, when I noticed the Phenom was AM2! So I was wondering if you could tell me if they will fit and work with each other!?!?

No, you need a AM3 processor for a AM3 DDR3 motherboard.
