Question..
Been using Sygate Firewall Pro for years. Still works but no update available for years because Norton bought them out. Im not have any problems. BUT........my question is related to do i need to buy something else. Has anything changed with software firewalls. to me this is still easy to use now but familar with it. Open / close ports, backtrace or what ever. features still there. Any thoughts on this firewall and is it still good to go?

I would purchase new firewall software, especialy if the one you have now has not been updated in years.

I suppose there’s been allot of new hacking methods and ways to get into your machine since you last updated and if it’s not protected against those because it doesn’t know how too, then your left open to attacks.

I recommend Kaspersky Firewall...or even better the whole Kaspersky package.
It’s not expensive and works really good stopped a few nastys getting in my system.

Or you could get a free firewall like Comodo if you don't want to spend the money, but i too will recommend you get a new firewall.

Money is not the problem. I don't mind buying. i don't want to buy if i don't need to. Yes, maybe something changed and does not know how. One question though. i bought a few months back. Kaspersky for 3 computers. is this the same thing on the firewall that comes with it.
thanks

it was

Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 (for 3 computers).
or is this firewall diffirent?

That package is excellent,I run it on my rig and ive not had any infections,it picked a few up that tried to install themselves and dealt with them.

Mines due to run out soon though,I ill be renewing my subscription for another year :) :good:
