Software for Remote Access

The company I work with are currently looking for a software that enables remote access to computers where you can take control over them different locations such as Team Viewer. We were using LogMeIn but now decided to move onto something better. For example. we are looking for something that updates the computers automatically and requires let user intervention. Although we are willing to pay for such a software we would like to know if something freeware exists.

Does anyone know of any?

You can use something like Bomgar for remote assistance.

Otherwise RDP works, although ideally it'd be over some sort of site to site VPN but it does offer its own encryption.

Have you tried italc?
It's a free program. It's originally designed for teachers to keep an eye on the students when they uses the schools computers.
That's why it has features like blacking out the screen so the students has no choice but to pay attention and a feature to make all selected computers preview the teachers computer.

It can monitor computers, (it also has a live preview of all computers in a given group) it can remote control, easy shutdown (highlight all computers in group and click shutdown) and more.

It works great. Can be a bit slow to react sometimes though. (when wanting to take control... or maybe that's just my experience)

Thanks for letting me know! I will surely give it a try! Do you know if it supports features such as File Transfer etc? Is support given on the support itself?

I believe you will have to pay for it to get support. It has one of those license agreement similar to Team Viewer.
Private and small business use is free, but any more than that costs... even though it works the same regardless.

Unfortunately i don't think it can file transfer. :/
I have a folder on our server that i can access on all computers. So i would transfer files like that.
Don't know if that's a good enough solution for you.

Ok, I see. Basically, we are looking for something that is centralized (if possible on the cloud) and all the management is done from it. We have approx 500 computers in total to cater for. For example, if we can install, update all of them from once central location. Now, as I said ... we willing to pay but very minimum or else looking something that is freeware. I really would like to find something that we can use.

You should just be able to push that through GPO
Yeah, setup WSUS and then apply the GPO for the computers to get updates from the server. They'll automatically install and then the user just needs to restart it once they're done.
