Hi,

I am a college student that wants to start his own computer fix it company that goes to people's houses to fix their problems. What software (free so I can't get sued) do you think I will need in this venture?

Thanks for the suggestions

Never hurts to have a copy of all the os cd's with you so you can do repairs if needed its not illegal to use your cd to boot from to do the checkdsk /r and such...

Thanks for the suggestions. I have CCleaner. Good idea with the OS cds. Perhaps I will do that.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Avast! or AVG Free for antivirus
AdAware SE Personal Edition

that'll take care of the malware/spyware and virus problems.

Firefox

and also a driver backup utility if ever you need to reformat.

BartPE is a VERY useful bootdisk that is based off the Windows XP core files. It is a bootable OS on a CD and I found it invaluable for recovering stuff off a hard drive that won't boot if you are about to reformat.
