I'm looking for software that can deal with erasing all areas of internet content. I'm going to provide a list of everything that needs erasing and I'm hoping people could post links to the best programs they know of for erasing these things.
Temporary Internet files
History
Temp files
Index.dat files
Registry keys (that contain internet content)
Recent
Run and search (in the start menue)
Web images and music files
Windows media player and Real player cache
Cookies
I'm currently use CCleaner to delete all this stuff, I know that only deletes it though so it's still easily recoverable. I'd like to use programs that have quite a high pass/shred standard. Probably the minimum of one pass, it would just be to stop nosey computer engineers from looking at stuff I've viewed and anyone around me who I may worry about. I do my banking/financial stuff online so I worry a bit about that.
I tried to use 'Eraser 5.7' to get rid of my temporary internet files, cookies etc. I right click the Temp internet files folder and then erase files, it takes a few minutes then says that it's erased them. However, when I click inside the folder they are still there; the only thing that has changed is that they are no longer a list of text files but quite large images. Any ideas why this is, do you think I've got the settings wrong?
If anyone could provide a few links to programs they know are good then that would be fantastic. It would be better if they were free ones, but anythings fine (just so long as they have a free trial).
Many thanks
P.S, I'm also looking for software which will erase the file names.
