Software to easily convert sound files and more? Please Help!

Hello everyone,

I have this big collection of music in folders.

In each folder, there are more folders with the actual Piece's name, and then there is a couple of files inside that folder, one of which is the actual sound file (and the others are scanned images of the front and back of the cd case).

For example,

Music Folder (folder) <-----my root folder
Classical (folder) <-----Sub division with classical music
Brahms Triple Concerto (folder) <------folder with files in it
^inside of this folder^
Music.ape (or .nrg, or .flac, various different files types), scan.img,scan2.img

I'm looking to do two things to this set of files.

1. I want to convert the entire batch to .mp3 from various file formats, including (but limited to) .nrg, .flac, and .ape

2. I want to automatically rename all of these .mp3 files to the name of their folder, as they are not named by their piece unfortunately.

What software should I use? I would prefer it to be free.

If you need any more information, please reply and let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

You can try FORMAT FACTORY.
It is a great AND free program which enables you to convert various image, audio and video file formats to many other types...

Well, I just checked them out.

Looks like their list of supported audio formats is as follows:

MP3
Ogg
Wave Sound (.wav)
Adaptive Multi-Rate (.amr)
Windows Media Audio (.wma)
Advanced Audio Coding (.aac)
MIDI (.mid)

Unfortunately, this leaves out most of the formats that I have.

Any other ideas?
