solved - Drives disappear from BIOS - Both Drives try to be in the same spot

Neither. my computer is working fine booting the way i have it. i just didn't know changing the sata to from IDE to AHCI makes it disappear from the first BIOS screen on reboot.

I saw in your other thread you were trying to get drives that were set up to run under IDE controller mode to AHCI controller mode and expected them to work.
I've done it several times, it's not that big of a deal. In windows you just need to make sure the ahci miniport driver is configured to load before you switch it.
Yes I want to be able to switch drives instead of Duel booting. I have a trayless enclosure I haven't installed yet.
Why not use the bootloader to select the OS? Seems a lot more straight forward than physically swapping drives to change what you boot into.

it corrupted my MBR last time I did a duel boot. I have a tray-less enclosure so Its not too bad
