Some advice on upgrades please

MOBO - EVGA P55 LE 123-LF-E653-KR LGA1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU - Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield Quad-Core 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Processor

RAM - 2 x CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

GPU - RAEDON HD 6970


I need a CPU desperately at this point and I'm looking to do this with the least amount of expense possible.

I was hoping to go with a FX8350 CPU since I'm going to need to change the mobo anyway.

Any suggestions on upgrades and how I should go forward with this?

I have OEM windows 7, will I need a fresh copy?

You will need a fresh copy of windows, your old key won't activate with a new motherboard, so take that into consideration.

What kind of issues are you having that makes you think you want to upgrade? Cause you are looking at about $510 or more with everything you need.

1. Motherboard - $160
2. Cpu - $180
3. New OS - $100
4. More memory - $70
 
Just install teh OS on the new motherboard and ring MS ... they have always reactivated it for me.
