Some Computer Issues

Occasionally I get the blue screen of death. A while ago I posted about this same problem on this site.. but my problem changed slightly. My earlier post was:

"I built my first computer of the summer.. but i have encountered one problem. When I am using my computer for something like browsing the internet, everything works fine. However.. whenever i play a game like LoL or SC2, at random my monitor goes blank. My computer is still on, but the monitor shows nothing and i have to restart the computer to get it working again. Also.. if im wearing headphones at the time when this happens it makes this loud buzzing type noise. It has only happened when im playing games which include: Starcraft 2, League of Legends, Blacklight, etc."

What changed? Well, rather then simply going blank, my monitor now shows the blue screen of death. And since the monitor doesn't automatically say "no signal" or "no connection" I can hear the buzzing noise without the use of headphones. Before it hadn't done that. My computer then restarts itself. Before it would just stop where it was after the monitor went black and it would require me to hold the power button down. Also.. it seems to occur randomly. Maybe it had just been a coincidence that it had occured when I had been playing games, but whether I'm surfing the internet or playing games the screen of death appears.

The advice that i was given before was to update my video card drivers. I did that but the problem continues.

My specs are as follows:
Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-VPro
VCard: R7870 Twin Frozr 2GD5
PSUPPLY: ANTEC 750Watt
RAM: Corsair XMS3 DDR3 16GB(4 x 4GB)
CPU: Intel i5-3570k

I'd recommend testing your RAM with Memtest86, bad RAM is usually one of the most common causes of BSODs and freezing. Download it here http://www.memtest86.com/, burn the ISO to a CD, boot off the CD and let the test run for about 8 hours or so. If it passes, remove one of your DIMMs and try again. I know it's tedious but it could well be the issue.
 
sounds like a lot of work hahaha if it comes to that so be it! However i am reluctant to do that. When i first built the computer i couldnt install my OS. (Windows 7 Home Prem. 64-bit) The reason you may wonder? NONE OTHER THAN FAULTY RAM!! So i returned the one i had and got a different set. 4 sticks of 4GB. I am just really hoping its not faulty RAM again.
 
Just test it anyway. If the RAM isn't the issue, could be the hard drive, or maybe malware. When I get blue screens, usually the first thing I think is "bad RAM". You could try removing one of your sticks for couple of days and see if that solves it.
 
so im completely new to computers and things like that.. so if i were to remove a stick of ram.. would i not be able to access anything on my computer that was on that stick? Is that how RAM works?? Is everything on the harddrive?
 
No, if you remove a stick you will still be access everything fine. Your data/information is stored on the hard drive, not on the DIMM. You will have less RAM as obviously you've removed a stick, but it should still function.
