Sounds like not only the m/b was shorted but it may have affected your cpu what psu you using m8?

it was just the one that came with the case, but it cant be it, because i tried to replace it with a new one, and it made no difference, but im really lost and confused right now..............

BTW: the same trick works now, if i unplug the power to the cpu, it starts up except for the processor any tips.

So have you tried another processor? Because it sounds like the CPU is dead ....
