ok so if i get THIS then i could pause and play live cable from my computer but would it be coming out on my tv? like would i have to hook up my tv as a monitor and do it like that or could i plug the tv directly to the back and play it like that...pleas help
 
That connects cable or an s-video or composite a/v to the system itself for viewing there. Your monitor becomes the tv. The card likely comes with an s-video to a/v adapter cable for connecting a vcr as well as other composite device like a camcorder for viewing on pc.
 
Each tuner card by various manufacturers and verying models will have it's own applications for setup configuration, viewing, personal video recorder as well as timer with some like a vcr, and may include a dvd program as well. The player/tv channel portion of the software will have a hardware configuration as well as input scan for analog, digital tv, internet radio with some, and the options for s-video and composite input.

The main viewer will much more like you would see in WMP or PowerDVD and not something you extend like a desktop between two monitors or 1 monitor, 1 tv. When selecting full screen viewing and with most simply double clicking on the viewing screen portion it will maximise out to full screen viewing just as seen with other players.
