Some questions...

I'm looking to buy a new gaming PC soon and I have questions I hope someone can answer.

1. What's the deal with dx10? Should I wait until newer video cards are released that can handle the next generation of games, or can the current GeForce models handle anything coming in the near future. I've heard that the latest cards that are dx10 enabled aren't really going to cut it when the real dx10 wave of games are released. True or false?

2. I know most people would recommend building your own computer, but I don't really have the time, desire, or knowledge to undertake such a project. How do you feel about CyberPower, specifically the Gamer Infinity 7500 model? I heard it was the best gaming computer for the price.

3. Finally, a pretty broad question, if I'm looking to buy a computer around November\December, is there any new hardware coming out that I should be aware of that should definitely be included in a new gaming rig? I know technology is constantly being advanced every day, but I don't want to miss out on any big developments like new video cards, whatever.

Thanks for the help.

1)To my understanding, most newer cards do support DX10, and should be able to support
new games for a while.
2)I built my first computer with very little knowledge, all I did was check stuff on CF. The only experience I had before building it was taking apart old computers. I would suggest building one, seeing as how I am really interested in computers, but if you don't have the desire, buying a pre-built one would be fine as long as you check the products going into the computer first.
BTW Building your own computer with individually purchased hardware can be a lot cheaper when you get up in the high performance range.

Answer to Q1: Microsoft say when they release Vista SP1, they will contain new DX10.1 which all current DX10 card do not support the add on features.

As for new hardware, a new PCI-express (version 2) will be released in november, meaning you'll have to get a new motherboard that has it and a geforce 9 series which comes out then. this upgrade changes the transfer rate from 2.5GB/s to 5.0GB/s, meaning potentially double the graphics processing power. also new processors featuring the new 45nm process will be arriving hopefully in december or november.

If you are not going to play an DX10 game there's no use in getting an DX10 card. Getting an DX10 card also means you need to get an DX10-supported operating system (Vista).

Building an computer is probably easier than hooking it up. Probably its basically going to be screwing stuff on and plugging it in. Seriously. I would not recommend Cyperpower, as already answered. Many bad complaints (or so I have hearD)

Depends on your budget. You not going to get an Ultra with an $500 budget. So far the best stuff is the 8800 Ultra, and the QX's. I think the G92's or so are coming this christmas... or later/sooner.
