some simple questions

Hi,
I've had a Dell 4400 Desktop for 7 years. My friends have said I'm lucky. Just do photos, music mixing, Email and Internet. Will never be a 'gamer' --- no offense intended.

I'd like the biggest (relatively) nicest screen on a notebook and basic features that will fullfill my needs for another 7 years. I have elderly parents who would love to see photos and movies I make (of our home and family).

Been looking at the Dell Studio 17. Want any and all advice. My 'harddrive' is on it's last legs. Just something sweet, fast, nice --- that I can take with me. thanks, chris

What is your price range. And I wouldn't say your lucky cause almost everyone in my family has had Dell's and they seem to last extremely long times. The Dell studio are really nice, and If I was you get at least the 2.0 GHZ dual core, 4 GB memory, 640 GB HDD space and vista ultimate. Even though you do not game I would recommend you get ati 3650 HD 256 MB graphic card so you will have good video quality and with the specs I listed I believe on the Dell studio will be just under 1500$.
