some wmv movie files will not open

im using windows media player ver 11 and someone else is using ver 9. this person cannot open the files and says there are many they can't open. im opening all. any suggestions. i find it hard to believe its the ver. but im listening. i suggested to update 1st then get back with results.

Maybe a codec?

alternative may be VLC player.

thanks.....problem is i open everything with windows media player just like him. Maybe i installed some update codecs for media player but don't remember. still open to suggestions though. i am thinking its a codec issue or update. i will find out later.

Tell them to upgrade to Media Player 11. lol

Is this on two separate computers?
