Ok heres the deal. I had some problems with windows me. my local puter wiz told me to run a registry repair program. I did that and it asked me for my product key. i entered it and it excepted it. then it proceeded to a blank ble screen with nothing but the arrow. i tried control alt delete and its showing nothing in task maager. I tried to run my windows discs but to no avail. no dos prompt or anything just blue screen.

Any info greatly appreciated
 
It was looking for the ME installation disk. That's what you will need for the repair program to verify the installation with the product number and repair any system files found damaged or missing. Have you hard booted the system to see if you can get Windows to run even in safe mode?
 
You will probably need to reinstall Windows in order to correct this. If you boot up with an ME startup floppy you can even manually delete the Windows directory by typing "C:>deltree windows" once you have manually changed from the a:> to the C:> prompt by typing "C:" and pressing enter. But you would still need the full installation disk unless you had a copy of 98 to install first and then use the upgrade method.

I'm surprised that ME is still being sold new. But it will cost about the same price for a remaining retail version as it would for a copy of XP Home or Pro. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...e-software-mp-20&redirect=true&condition=new/
